you give more than you know, when you just listen.

many of us feel the pressure to fix things—and often we just can't—but that doesn't mean we can't make the speaker feel calmer by the simple act of listening.

think about how you felt, the last time somebody really listened to you—without an agenda, without interrupting, without correcting.

it’s one of the most loving things anyone can do for a friend or loved one who’s frustrated or hurting.

it shows that the other person’s feelings are valuable to you, even if you don’t agree—especially if you don’t agree.

and giving your trustworthy ear, a place to vent or share, or admit fear or reveal secrets—that's a rare gift.

So if you don’t know what to say, just listen.

I’m natalie. till we talk next time, be good to yourself.
